Anyway, the initial plot is just Wataru being brought out of his shell while fighting to keep people safe from Fangires in the present while his dad does the same thing while trying to woo a Fangire Hunter named Yuri. Instead of feeling jumpy, the narritive swapping works to help set up Wataru's story by showing what happened in the past to get him to this point.

It's a pretty good series that I do reccomend.
