Long story short, the rangers are kids/tweens that struggles from alien invasion and child abuse. Dark'n'edgy.

Got that kinda concept while marathoning Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans episodes. The mecha and motif concepts are inspired from Transformers franchise, with the main mecha took inspiration from Devastator (TF G1) and the sixth ranger's mecha took inspiration from Metroplex (TF Cybertron incarnation).
