The show keeps being very good, it follows the classic dual episodes formula, but there's always a lot of details for the main plot about the Museum's family, so the story flows pretty well. It's not complex, but it's better than mysterious mystery bs never explained (yeah I watch this just after Kiva and Decade). The idea of using a cat as a Kaijin is brilliant, because cats are mostly selfish sadistic bastards.

Comedy is well balanced, I don't find Akiko specially annoying. I mean, when you think about it, the subject of the dual-ep is often rather dark and serious (mostly addiction, revenge, obsessive behaviour,...) so it's ok to have more light and funny elements, like slapstick comedy or Phillip's coockoolander behaviour.
