[Kiwami]

Not a terrible episode, but I hate how they recycle the whole "Enemy becomes a friend but sacrifices himself for the protagonist immediately after"-plot from last year. I mean you can see the Ganma dying in Takeru’s arms in the freakin’ preview for the next episode. So now we know that everything in this episode and a good portion of the next is completely irrelevant, what a waste.

I know Ganmas can return even if their Eyecons are destroyed, but come on, this show doesn’t have the balls or the brains to take the Paint Ganma in as a secondary character. I mean currently you have Yurusen who does nothing but being a dick and Gramps isn’t around much. Why not take the Paint Ganma as a “house ghost” and let him teach you about the Ganma world? I would actually be really into that idea and would like to see that happen.

But it won’t. So yeah, the best part of this episode was a waste of time, and speaking about wasting time, Makoto still does nothing but being a puppet and it sucks. You can have character development for Alain without taking Specter out of the show for 3 weeks. Also, I hate how that leaves Necrom with Grimm and Sanzo because I don’t like those, he looks best in his base form IMO. And Specter with the Necrom Damashii looks pretty bad as well.

Speaking about that, I don’t like how they recycle past Ghost parkas buy using it with Toukon boost. For one it’s a cheap trick, and second it doesn’t really look good. Almost all of those colors clash with the mostly red suit. In fact Musashi is about the only ghost I can think of that might look good with Boost. And that’s because he’s mostly red as well. But oh well, once Grateful comes around this won’t matter anyways.

So yeah, another kinda decent episode in a show that apparently can’t escape its mediocrity.
