Yeah, the asspull isn't that he wasn't dead when he obviously didn't explode, the asspull is that he didn't explode/die instantly. Necrom Specter is Boost/Houdini levels of powerful, if not more so. And Gazai took a Necrom Omega Spark head-on and escaped relatively unscathed? That's kind of an asspull.

Though I'll agree with Enchilada that Makoto may have been resisting when attacking Takeru, so the finisher may not have been at full strength. At this point, it is the best explanation.
