This show is in its own timeline, so no, it's not a prequel to Universal Century or anything. Especially considering before Universal Century, they didn't have mobile suits.

To me, what's interesting about the 00 universe is that there are a few space colonies, but they are just sort of there and are not really prevalent in the story. There's probably only a few because the space elevators just got built, and investment in space colonies hasn't taken off yet. You actually get to see a space colony in season 1, and the 00 movie has the construction of new colonies being started.

I have only see 00 dubbed, lol. Never in Japanese. Still waiting on those Blu-rays...

Does the show have clip shows and if so, do you know what episodes they are? Just want to know so I know what episodes to skip.

As for the timeline thing, interesting, as there is a lot that can attribute to it being a prequel. First, the GN particles the Gundams emit seem like the precursor to the Minovsky Particles in the UC stuff. As for the mobile suits thing, I don't recall them ever saying they never existed before. Plus, how would they build space colonies without mobile suits? There is also the possibility that they stopped producing them when peace came to pass as everyone was focusing on space colonies.

You're most likely right, but it seems like this could easily be placed in any of the time lines if they so choose. Kind of like how Tomino decided to put G-Turn A and Recon G all in the UC universe.
