While the episode was great, the one thing I took from it was that when the GIFT revealed itself, I realized just how diabolical Genis really is.

He never said anything about a time limit, aside from the implied death by shrinking barrier, and it can be assumed that he would want the competition to be fair. So the most logical place to put the switch would be the place where the Zyuohgers have the most time to find it before the barrier passed it over: the center of the dome. Yes I know that there is technically no-in show evidence that that was where they were, but it makes the most sense since the center would also be where all the people would gather so that they could live as long as they could before the barrier engulfed them. So if they lose, you have a large group of people lose hope and suffer until their inevitable end. But if they win and the button is pressed, everyone is lulled into a false sense of security, thinking they won. Then while everyone is celebrating, the GIFT rises up and slaughters the"survivors", destroying their hopes and their lives in one fell swoop, before moving on to the rest of the planet.

And Genis only ever stood 3 times so far.
