1 Thunderbolt is a series of 20 minute OVAs having been released since December, with the final part, part 4, having just come out. It takes place during the end of the One Year War, and focuses on the conflict of Federation and Zeon over a supply route in the Thunderbolt sector, basically the wreckage of Side 4 with some weird plot convienent lightning.

2 I think IBO is okay to good. The first 5 episodes to me were really great, and a few episodes after that were good. Episode 24 was the best episode of the show, promptly ruined by 25. Its character development is good, but some of the stuff took way too long then it should have. And the action scenes were few and far between. I appreciate the people working on the show feeling liks they have to shove fights in every once in awhile just because, but it defintley felt missing.

I wouldn't call Thunderbolt a treasure but it's good. Hopefully the new Blu-ray can add enough footage to fix my two major problems with the show, the absurdly fast pace and cut out backstory from the manga. Thunderbolt's stuff about Side 4 is really a good expansion of Gundam lore, and from what I've seen prior to episode 4, stuff about Moore's wealth and loyalty to the Federation haven't been mentioned.

Guess it’s an artistic vision that I can’t enjoy, but I liked Iron Blooded Orphans a lot more.

Thunderbolt's art is better if you see the similarity to Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure lol. As fod the music, I don't see how its bad. There was the intial teaser trailer with the awful blaring, but other than that, I find it fine.
