The best way to do this would be to mask the metallic parts and either airbrush or spray paint the unmasked colored plastic. You can use painters tape for masking, but you can also use silly putty (easier to manipulate and contour around edges). An airbrush isn't a sound investment for everyone if they won't put it to good use, but you'll have a lot more control and a lot less mess vs. spray paint. As always, be sure to lay down a coat of primer or white paint as a base, then finish over the black with an acrylic sealer of your choice.
