I actually prefer Zyuranger to both shows, lol. Zyuranger isn't the best of Sentai, but the mythos it built and ideas it introduced to Super Sentai were great. Not to mention I think it has some of the best choreography Sentai has ever had, thanks to the great Kazuo Niibori.

But yeah, the issue I have with is the characters. I will admit in Maskman I really do love Akira, Kenta and Momoko, but Takeru doesn't really interest me as a Red and Haruka is one of the blandest characters I've ever seen in Sentai, ever. And Magiranger they act too childish for my taste, aside from Urara and when Makito get serious they are solid, but Kai, Tsubasa and Houka are just eh.
