FF4 had the build-up of a slow moving turd. When the trailer hit, folks were pretty much over and done with it. The production for the film was tumultuous and the director even threw the studio under the bus after release.

This movie has the entertainment world buzzing, a high-profile actress as the villain in Elizabeth Banks (which wouldn't be happening if she were a no-name Japanese actress like some folks wanted) and slow-but-hyped reveals like the suits. Although we can safely say that reactions have been mixed, it has the fan base talking and excited...which is much more than can be said of FF4.
