After all, she has admitted that she sees the value in the tactic, despite it being seen as an abomination when Garnet first did it. I'm betting that HW Gems view fusion as an abomination because of the failed experiments. They think that if the experiments failed under supervision then it mustn't be something that should exist. If you can't force it to work in some form or fashion, it must be defective and destroyed/left to perish on its own.

And that if it happens naturally, under various conditions, like Garnet, then it must be freakish mutation. And that is something that can't be allowed. Like humans, in a sense, the Gems fear what they cannot understand and control.
