I'm glad it wasn't bullshit like with Tobias and his fucking Darkrai, but Ash's character has stagnated since Hoenn.

But it's been 20 years, 6 generations, and 900+ episodes since Ash started his journey from Pallet Town, yet when it truly matters, when he finally makes it to the end and goes for the gold, he falls flat. Seriously, he has an appalling 0-6 record in Pokémon League tournaments.

I swear to Arceus if he doesn't win the Alola League then it's clear the writers hate him and he'll be doomed to always fail when it truly matters
