I've always been a much bigger fan of 1985 primarily for Raymond Burr's scenes and a slightly faster pace.

1985's dub is also pretty great for a Heisei Godzilla film. I think the only lame moments are "SAYONARA SUCKER" and pretty much all of the Major's dialogue.

The "death scream" as Godzilla is plunged into Mihara is also a great touch to an already sad scene. Really makes you feel for the big guy.

Anyway, I might check out Kraken's release just for having the Japanese version on Blu-Ray. Might combine my bootleg 1985 DVD with it in a double-disc case.
