60s Tiger Mask is awesome, I managed to see it long time ago. The build up was slow for that one but once it kicked in it did wonders.
Seems like this new one is a direct sequel to that 60s anime given that Miss X says Tiger Mask is the name of the traitor from half a century ago pretty much.
Also ol'man Takaoka was that Tiger Mask's ally and also Yellow Devil during that time.
From what I heard Tiger Mask 2nd which came out during either the late 70s or mid 80s is a sequel to the manga oddly and not the 60s anime.

The ending for the original manga and the 60s anime differ too.

in the manga Tiger Mask ends with him dying randomly by getting hit by a car, in the 60s anime he wins and then leaves Japan
