I guess that's a fair point. This version is considerably more glaring than the original too, given they got rid of the yellow bit of the bed hanging over the cab, which went a huge way toward making it resemble an actual vehicle more.

Well, as far as I can tell, it seems like the Kyoryuger stuff was too fancy for its own good, thanks to how bulky they were combined with the electronics on the bigger components. Kyoryujin's arms are constantly fighting a losing battle against gravity and in general those clips used all over the place really don't seem designed to handle the load they're given, making the whole line a gift-wrapped opportunity for BoA to show why weighing nothing isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Comparatively, ever since ToQger, it seems like Sentai has been deliberately taking a page out of their playbook and making chunkier, simpler robots designed to actually be something a kid can smash around without instantly breaking something important.
