My favorite of the three is Exceedraft because it's very story heavy compared to the others in the trilogy...but it was also not originally intended as a Rescue Police show.


I don't find the 90s Metal Hero shows to be any weirder than the 90s Sentai, it's more or less on the same level. (early 80s Metal Hero stuff could get weird)

But yeah, Winspector is a really good show in its own right. I'm not sure it's one you would want to marathon because it literally has no main bad guy - and not in the Dekaranger sense where there was a guy funding evil aliens, Winspector has no one in charge of bad guys. On top of that, there really aren't too many bad guys in the traditional sense Winspector and I if I'm remembering right, there are only two or three traditional monsters in the show. Winspector really is about the heroes going into dangerous situations and rescuing people or stopping human criminals from hurting other people.

The characters, especially Walter and Bycle, can be a lot of fun and are pretty endearing when you get an episode that puts them through hell. Early Winspector is a little bizarre, but it's also got one of my favorite episodes, episode 5, which has the heroes trying to stop an evil falcon from killing people and blowing stuff up.
