It's not that she's had some bad stories (like, say, her current role in Civil War II from what I've seen), it's that the really bad stories were my first exposure to the character and those are what created my primary impression of her. I've read some reasonably decent stuff that featured Carol Danvers, but to me she's always going to be the asshole who tried to fly to the moon drunk and beat up Spider-Woman while her daughter watched.

Look, I know I have a flawed read on the character, but I can't help it: that's just the way she was first presented to me.
