I think you're forgetting the fact that Zoids doesn't just take place on an alternate Earth; it's a different planet entirely. Zoids ARE alien. Plus, you could apply that same exact logic to these Zords. They could ALSO very well be the equivalent of fighter jets and tanks from Zordon's planet.

Again, my whole initial justification is that BOTH is possible. Full view screens from the perspective of the Zord's cameras and sensors overlayed on top of actual windows to allow fist person monitoring as well. It's like how real world tanks have viewfinders and displays on the inside, but opening up the hatch on top and looking directly outside is also an option. Since when is practicality a bad thing?

Plus I think the notion that this canopy doesn't "match the aesthetic" is entirely subjective. I think it blends just fine with the rest of the visual cues of the design. The scaling? That's another problem, but until further notice I'm just going to assume it's an issue with the presentation of the poster, and not necessarily a discrepancy that will translate into the movie.
