Actually, the dinosaurs may very well have been the primary selling point! I believe one of the reasons that has been suggested regarding Toei and the use of dinosaurs for Zyu (which might have been suggested by August Ragone, I can't currently remember) was Toei's anticipation of Jurassic Park, which was released in America during the Summer of '93 prior to PR debuting during the Fall Season of '93, and according to IMDB, the release date for Jurassic Park in Japan was on 7/24/93, which is apparently the same date as the release of Zyuranger 22 which debuted Gouryujin! Toei might have done it because of the potential success of the movie, but Saban might have done it to cash-in on the massive appeal AFTER the movie became a success! Granted, the show was likely in production before and during the movie release, but Saban may have had the same idea or even learned it from Toei! It's possible, though I will not say definitively, that Jurassic Park is the reason why Zyu is dinosaurs, and by default, why Mighty Morphin' is dinosaurs! Thanks Spielberg and Crichton!

P.S.: Anyone ever realize that despite Mighty Morphin' being dinosaur-based, Saban and Co. never really dealt with the matter too much in Season 1! It's simply the given motif, but no genuine explanation was given at that time as to "Why dinosaurs?"
