[Fish Sandwich]

Another sweet episode of Ex-Aid, although at this point that's no surprise. My first couple bullet points here may make it sound like I didn't enjoy it, but it isn't the case:

- Wait, so Dan got his data on death from... dying? But he's not dead? But he should be dead from using the Proto Gashat? But even though they established that he never showed any signs of slowing down? I... I'm sure it makes sense, whatever. He probably used the Kaigan Ghost Gashat from the movie to get data on cheating death or something, sure. In all seriousness, I guess the idea is the data he got is also what kept him alive, so... fine. I've given up on expecting Ex-Aid to explain its internal logic and as long as it's in service of the story I really don't care.

- Wait, you need Level 5 to take Genm on, Emu? Didn't you mop the floor with him using Level 3 just fine back in episode 5? I was starting to think it was a deliberate and cool detail that Genm isn't actually tougher than the other Riders. He's usually either a Level ahead or using hit-and-run tactics that are more about accomplishing an objective, like preventing the Riders from blowing up a monster, rather than trying to actually win a fight with them. Maybe Emu was just being overeager.

- Speaking of Emu, man, just look at the total lack of characterization on display here. What a boring guy. Okay, I'm still a little bitter about those TV-N threads that got mentioned last week (you might say I'm a little Salty), but, from where I'm standing, they're continuing to do interesting stuff with him.

- Speaking of Salty, are people going to start saying Ex-Aid has no budget now that they're recycling MotW suits too?

- Kiriya is the man. I think I'm just going to say that every week until it stops being true.

- He's also totally fine for next week. I mean it. Really. HE'LL BE FINE!

- I mean, he's not like Hase who was distinctly a minor character, he's one of the main dudes. I think it'd be really unprecedented for something like that to just happen out of the blue. The only way I can even remotely see it happening is if someone new becomes Lazer to keep the "character" in the show for merch purposes (which also happened with Kurokage), and I feel like we would've either heard about that happening or be seeing an obvious replacement candidate in the show itself already.

- Speaking of surprises, we haven't gotten magazine scans with Zombie Genm yet, have we? I feel like a new form showing up like that doesn't happen often.

- Also, if they're explicitly calling next week a Christmas special, it better feel like it. I have a weak spot for any plot that can be described as "x saves Christmas" and have been waiting since Wizard for Rider to do something even close again. It's like the one thing I'd change about Ghost, come to think of it.

- Oh, and since I'm always forgetting to mention something, why was Genm's voice filter different this episode? It used to sound all cool and now it's barely different from Dan's normal voice.
