Evil for the sake of evil isn't necessarily a bad thing, not even villain needs to have some rich detailed backstory to justify their actions.

I think MMPR is fun. It isn't the pinnacle of storytelling no, but I have fun with it and to me that's the most important thing. Seasons 2 and 3 are much better than the first though, not being as constrained by Sentai footage and all.

But yeah, there are PLENTY of shows beyond MMPR that had good (and better story telling). Some Saban, some Disney, none Neo Saban
