Well I watched the first half and thought, well THAT was a really silly episode. Kinda surprised they do that, but whatever it's a nice break from all the dark drama.

Then the second half hit. . .

As for Emu, I've been guessing for a while that the real Emu died during or before the operation and the character we've been following is a Bugster, maybe even the very first Bugster, created to carry the memories of the original. That why the You'll still be you thing was said.
