I guess just to rub in that he's a compassionless jerk who doesn't value his allies, hence why he's a loser and the Zyuohgers are cool guys. I think the weirder thing here is that they made it look like she died last week in the first place. It was a very "oh, okay then" moment when she just sort of showed up again.
