As a whole, though, I really enjoyed the series. The villains were a misstep, but they didn't disappoint me as much as most of Gingaman's villains.

They did kinda hint toward it with the Quval bit where he thought Ginis would be weaker on Earth because the energy of the ship is what strengthens him. Given how he used Cube Whale's data to gain power from the Earth, it probably fueled his hatred for his true form even more.
