On their website, Toei broke it down like this:

Episode 1 through 5 are the prologue
Episode 6 onward will be the "Earth Liberation" arc.

Gives me hope Earth won't be the setting for the rest of the episode.

If that is the case I guess the first five eps will have a director's cut at some point via dvd and blu-ray.
Also yes, I too hope they leave Earth in later arcs.
Maybe not permanently but at least for a good 13 eps for a change.
Heck, why bother calling them Uchu Sentai if all they do is mope around Earth all day?
