Finished Iron Fist.
Was pretty good. There were mild pacing issues, but they're actually never brought up in the negative reviews. Aside from that, the only other problems were the characters warping around locations and some of the fights being rather lack luster.
Otherwise, pretty enjoyable show.

Considering all the racial issues surrounding it, well...I can't quite bring myself to care. Danny has always been a white dude, and his struggle is completely personal. Hell, a plot point is that he wasn't the defender and guardian people wanted him to be because he was, basically, too selfish. White savior he is not.
Not to mention our two non-white female leads are kind of portrayed as infinitely more competent than him because he's too naive to really function without them.

I really don't understand what's going on.

Anyway, in relation to the show, I really hope season 2 gives Madame Gao greater significance. Be it here or Daredevil, she was always more of an obstacle for someone else's schemes, even when she was trying to be a major player. They always play her up as the master puppeteer in her appearances, but when she's beaten, the real big bad goes "Haha, with her out of the way now I can do all my bullshit unabated."
