Are you saying that the ideas would've been balanced around Ecliptor's chronology, or would they have overruled Ecliptor's claims? Ecliptor's devotion and care was a large part of his motivation and characterization!

I'm saying they would've written the show to not have those contradictions. Either they wouldn't have had Ecliptor claim he was built evil, or they would've done a story where Ecliptor foudn out his true origins, and his memories of being evil from construction were fabricated/misunderstood. It's not difficult to wrap your head around.

Also, I don't get what the point of your first sentence is. So what if Tommy's reaction was shown? Tommy and Kimberly had WAY more settup than Billy and the Aquetian... and there's nothing saying Billy would've had to dump her to become the Phantom Ranger. He hooked up with one of the alien Rangers, right? She should know that he may have to go away on Ranger duty. Hell, maybe she convinced him to be the Phantom Ranger, as the Alien Rangers were busy defending Aquatar.
