They will obviously kill off Team X in episode 2 so Chihiro can join the next iteration of the cleaners or something. So they want you to know right away how shitty these guys are and how Chihiro does not belong there.

Fair enough, but now I'm scared to think Chihiro will get the "Hayase syndrome" to where he'll feel bad about someone dying throughout the rest of the series just like how Kouta and Emu never forgot about Hayase's and Kiriya's death's.
