I think it's because none of the main team have loud or instantly appealing personalities. There's a certain level of understatement to them that doesn't seem to exist in the majority of Sentai. I dunno, I just don't think there are many characters in the franchise who's most characterful moments have no dialogue or action...

The show made Jingle Bells a tearjerker. That isn't normal or right.
