One relatively (or well, completely) irrelevant example is the fact that two characters were in a sort of relationship through texts at the beginning of the show, but only knew each other's first names. The two characters end up meeting and interacting a lot throughout the course of the show, but it literally takes over 40 episodes for them to find out, because somehow they never ever thought to ask or heard someone else call them by their names. Again, this is a pretty irrelevant example all things said, but this level of pointless and contrived is pretty standard for Inoue's writing.
