[Kiwami]

Well, that was fun. I generally liked watching Kakuranger. It's corny as all hell but that's what makes it so enjoyable to watch, for me at least.

It got some genuine laughs out of me when the Eyeball Yokai immediately took Tsuruhime to court after she wanted a divorce or when the Cat Yokai started her silly singing routine.

I didn't get to know the characters very much and I kinda doubt that this is a show where character development matters but I like these guys. I didn't even know that the Red Ranger isn't actually the leader in this one, that's kinda new to me as someone who only knows new-age Sentai shows.

All in all, I think this was great. I didn't care much for the segments in between with the guys talking but it was not a terrible setup. But it still made me want to buy the show so I guess that's what I'll do now.

Also, I had never seen Muteki Shogun before, I only knew the Power Rangers Ninja Zord which is apparently the last mecha the Kakurangers get, but man I love this one. First of all the idea that the Rangers basically "transform" into their individual mechas is nice, and I like their gimmicks. Muteki Shogun himself looks great, I love the castle theme and his sword is badass.

I made the mistake of looking up the toy, it looks really nice, I kinda want one. But that's pretty costly and the American version seems to have swaped the white color for pink on their toy (meh). I guess I'll wait and see if they make a new one sometime in the future, I can wait.
