This is where the mecha actually started to matter. Mech battles were no longer just glorified finishing moves because the mecha actually did stuff. Not to mention they built up the mecha and developed the concept before they threw the whole thing in there. All of the shows from the 80s had the mecha right from the get go without any effort and every episode feature a mech battle whether it needed one or not.

Another thing about Zyuranger is that it was the start of being done with the boxy one dimensional looking mecha. Like there is barely any difference between Dynarobo and Changerobo. No one has ever looked like Daizyujin, Dragon Ceasar, or King Brachion though.
