I spent a big portion of this season unsure whether I liked it or not, and while I think it took a long time to find its footing (which might have partly been the aim thinking about it) I came to really like it. Perhaps not as much as season one on a pure enjoyment level, but I definitely went away thinking about this season more after each episode.

It was such a well done tragedy. There was no real heroes (apart from the past extermination squad I guess but even they acknowledged they'd messed up letting Mamoru out of their sight), just people who'd either made mistakes of varying severity or monsters born into circumstances they had no control over. Watching all the varying plot threads from the first season come together to spiral in this horrific mess was really bleak.

While I agree with the sentiments that it's a bit disappointing we never got a proper look at Chihiro's true Amazon form, I honestly didn't mind that we never got to see the final battle. It's a bit of a Kuuga situation for me where it didn't need to be seen to have the intended impact.

So yeah, a slow start but a great finish. I kinda hope they do more but at the same time I also hope they know when to stop.


(New Omega still looks dreadful though)
