THIS. Ex-Aid managed to pull off one of, if not, the most sensible"evil character redemption" I've ever seen in toku. It just makes SO MUCH SENSE now why Emu decided to be so savage in "killing" off Parad now. We all knew somehow he would "save" Parad, and that he really wasn't dead, but the only issue was why he had to do it so coldheartedly? Well, it was all just to give him a taste of what it feels like to be unfairly hunted down & to have his life taken away. And what I love about this most.....is that this is a COMPLETELY HUMAN thing to do, because guess what? Doing such a thing is a MORALLY GRAY ACTION!!! People were so suprised at how savage & ruthless Emu was in that Episode, and for good reason! This isn't the type of thing we expect our hero to do, and yet he did, to teach the villain a lesson! It's petty, yes, but in the end it was effective & got through to Parad. This makes Emu feel MUCH more human, unlike other toku where the heroes will just blindly & easily forgive villains for their actions. Emu going through such questionable methods to teach Parad a lesson shows a bit of a CHARACTER FLAW. He's NOT A GARY STU MAIN RIDER, THANK GOD!!!
This definitely goes in the Ex-Aid Hall of Fame for Best Episodes of the Series. I can't get enough of just how good the writing in this Episode was for Parad & Emu.
