I wanted to think a couple years ago when the Winspectors started being released and the Janperson & Kabutack prototypes were shown off at Tamashii Nations, that Metal Heroes really were going to fill that gap. And while we've definitely gotten a lot in the last couple years with the Winspectors & the two new Gavan Renewals, I still don't know if we'll get more. It's certainly the golden age for that franchise right now. So who knows what could happen at this point.



And honestly? It would have had no bearing on Ryoma's character development or story. He wasn't drive by any special trauma in his backstory, though we do find out about one in the end. He simply was the perfect candidate for the team. It doesn't matter at all why he was selected by Masaki, simply that he is the captain, he's a good man, and he will do anything to save others. That's the core of his character through and through.

And Yeah Jiban ran far over budget but hey you know, it's the most elaborate of the Roboco-esque heroes. It's a great watch all in all.

True. It's just that the way I processed it was that after Jiban's production was over-budget they must have been under quite some pressure at the early stages of development to recoup losses and probably were told to not pull any fancy stunts and stay resourceful.
