Not saying you're wrong, just feel some of your criticisms aren't entirely valid

I was talking about the Rider powers not evolving meaningfully, not the characters themselves. I actually like the characters a lot, especially Banjou. Seeing him fight unmorphed for so long before finally getting his powers was a really nice touch that I've wanted from Rider forever. I feel like as a franchise the show doesn't do enough to convince us the person in the suit is the same person as the one out of it. My issue with Banjou is that his girlfriend dying wasn't very well handled, outside of specific scenes you'd never even know that was his driving force as a character.

Everything you've listed there can be found in multiple other Rider series, though.While it may be true that it hasn't appeared in the last few series Drive/Ghost/Ex-Aid (I haven't watched any of these), all of the stuff featured in Build appears verbatim in various series before it.

Also that Rain scene was one of my favourite in the whole show exactly because it finally shut the Driver up.
