How not even close? That was a comment about your (and most here) approach to justice being very much like Javert.

Did he commit a criminal act? Yes. Was his culpability in the criminal act lessened at all? Yes, he was drunk and impaired judgement lessens culpability in an offense. Does that mean he is absolved of the crime? Of course not. Does that mean he should be treated like a hardened serial rapist that openly admits to police interrogators that he thinks of women as nothing more than meat? God no! Is there a degree of justice that must be administered against his action? Yes, not only for the sake of justice but for the sake of mercy on him that he may be able to reform.

Given the attitude I’ve seen in this thread and the last one on this topic, it almost sounds like everybody is calling for him to under go mizuharitsuke like it’s the fucking Tokugawa Shogunate.
