Either I've been exposed to too much fandom Doujin stuff, but I thought there was some heavily implied Shonen ai since the early 2000s.

Boukenblack's unrequited love for BoukenRed and Go-buster Gold/Silver acting like a married couple in particular stand out. Some of the male masters in Geki too. GokaiGreen as well. Probably many more examples throughout too. Though yeah, nothing outright stated ever that I'm aware of.

On the women side, DekaYellow comes to mind that stands out as maybe. GeKiYellow too, and the Penguin master she had I thought was alluded to as bi. Pretty sure Nai and Mare were a bit of an item too, but that's more due to vampire/succubus lore. Mele came across as coded as bi. Probably some others too. Again nothing outright stated tho.
