An animated mainline series is not going to happen. The main series will stay live action as long as Sentai does.

A side spin-off series or otherwise legacy celebrating series though as animated is possible.

So if Hasbro decided it might be worth the investment to do an animated Shattered Grid series or movie, that's possible. If they wanted to do other Legacy based animated series, that's possible too. Heck, if they randomly wanted to do an MTV movie-verse animated version that's possible too. And Toei would endorse/push them to go ahead on that, as it's material they can get to sell to their audiences to profit more and generate interest in the brand as a whole. Making the property that much more popular. They solely get to distribute or dictate how that material enters their regions.

But the main yearly show will stay live action as long as a channel will air it and the toys sell.

And I'd seriously like to see the proof to these claims of "Litigation about the name by Toei and Bandai" stuff. I sincerely doubt either one is worried at all.

Bandai of America will bounce back, and they still hold the rights to other Toei areas like Kamen Rider if another attempt to come stateside happens. Which is likely to happen. Same to Ultraman from Tsuburaya.

Super Sentai DVD sets are safe too so long as they sell. To hasbro that only means more toys sold anyway as the sub watchers will still want the legacy items of past series. And the sub isn't mainstream enough that it can hurt ratings of current series either, especially since it's past series, and doesn't do current. As long as a sub isn't legitimately available at the same time as their currently on air series, they'll remain indifferent. And even that they may be indifferent on, as the merchandise moved is merchandise moved, no matter which version you prefer.

On Toei's end. This isn't a big deal either. They still get the royalties, and still get the shows back to dub and air. So more extra footage bought, more changes made, no big deal to them. All that means is more may watch their dubbed version when they localize it to their regions. The wider the differences, the better so more check it out and they can capitalize on more merchandise sold. Same to Bandai of Japan that can capitalize on it from sales of merchandise.

At the end of the day, it's all about franchise popularity and profit. If hasbro can increase those bottom lines, which that's the plan in even purchasing it, all the better.

This can lead to other stuff though. Better budgets and series approaches after beast morphers. Better merchandise. And an overall way to rejuvenate the brand as a whole. Which in turn increases profits for Toei and in turn, Bandai of Japan too.

Bandai of Japan is likely fine with it. It doesn't hinder their markets, and the american branch is going to move on to other licenses eventually anyway. Same as how it could increase sales of their merchandise anyway because of the rejuvenated interest in the brand as a whole.

As for movie, it can go either way. Likely won't be a reboot so they can capitalize on the better sales potential a sequel can hold with the Dragonzord and Green ranger's popularity, or could have a more unique take done that's fully original from the ground up.

But with how movie 1 toy sales held really well overall in many markets and how positively it was reviewed and received, Hasbro may opt for the sequel path instead because of the buzz a "Dragonzord movie" could create.

As for united universe stuff, that's still possible as is or from a side universe. That's something Hasbro still needs to work the bugs and kinks out of anyway. It'd be a mess to throw them all together right from the start, so oddly enough the movie as-is holds the better solution with how it was fast paced and isolated without tying into the larger world as yet. But you do run into larger issues if you merge power rangers into a cinematic universe like them fighting decepticons and how it changes their presence in the larger world, or why aren't autobots stopping these alien invaders the rangers fight, or GI Joe/Cobra and how they react to ranger stuff. So it becomes rather convoluted and messy if not handled with care or approached right. Too many things on earth creates too many questions and issues. So that's something they'd have to tread softly on, and story build it appropriately.

But it does open up avenues for other cameos and more random lore additions or widely different alternate universe stuff. Rom appearing in Sentai or on Power Rangers is a possibility now. Friendlier relations with Toei opens up doors for Takara and Toei to look into a Toku or animated Transformers things as well. Sentai is a tradition staple, but it would be remiss to not capitalize on the brand popularity of Transformers as a whole to try and redo some concepts of that, especially with how well Masterforce was received there, and how Takara has looked into it in the past with Tomica Rescue Force. Plus they are on mildly good terms with Toei animation as is from a previous series they were working together on rather recently. But those are far future things if the Toei/Hasbro interactions go well.

Like I said, at the end of the day, it's all about profits. As long as everybody's profit lines increase, there's really nothing to worry about. As a company, that's all their main goals.
