Mostly when I choose songs for referencing and they happen to be sharing an identical or similar title, I look and see how prominent is the song and the act associated with it, how did it perform at the time of release, and is it one of their popular titles. In the case of Small World, I felt Huey Lewis and The News made more sense cause it charted decently on the Billboard at the time of release whereas Cliff Richard's Small World felt like more of an obscure gem in comparison to his other hit titles based on my findings. It is an objective choice, I admit, but if it makes the most sense to me, play ball.
Also, I ask myself which seems most likely to appear on a classic hits radio station a number of times within the span of a month if I ever catch it.

Yep. If they do, I picture it either being zyusoken, one of the personal weapons that make up howling cannon, or a toy scale size of Dragon Caesar's tail. Probably say it is a high-powered drill told to have been used to take care of the teeth of dragons.
