They should. And tbh, when you're doing a reboot movie to modernize a property, it's a chance to do the property for a new generation. And BeetleBorgs may not have reached power rangers levels, but it did do well enough. Better than other shows of its ilk. It very well could gain Power Rangers levels if handled right in a revitalization. Especially in this age of wider Super Hero comics becoming mainstream and becoming movies. Now is perfect timing for it.
Out of the tier of adapted Toku, only Power Rangers, Ultraman, and Beetleborgs really made any kind of impact whatsoever. The others kind of flopped hard. Though Beetleborgs and VR Troopers are likely closer to tied. But hey, if even Gridman can get a revival, why not.
And I gotta admit, your adaptation idea is dead on perfect. Few minor tweaks needed to give it some extra scary and yield some longevity, but otherwise is exactly right and could really work well. It'd be a quick easy cash grab for a trilogy and toy market resurgence. Which could greatly increase the odds of Toei doing a new B-Fighter metal hero series too if it gain audience traction.
TBH, VR Troopers and Beetleborgs should both get movies. They're perfectly timed for the modern day with the increase of VR tech, and the heavier prevalence of comic media.

Astral Borgs are better for background throwaway fodder to not distract from the main trio leads. Keeping the cast more compacted works better for character growth and story confines. So keeping them accurate to the show for their in and out presence is better. Yields more toys, and keeps the property more open. Staying away from the Bay formula of throwing in too much too fast, and keeping more towards the bumblebee formula of streamlined and focused. But having them as 'throwaway background summons from the comics" does work in favor of also doing a bit of tongue in cheek Hollywood superhero movie prodding about things they do too without actively being a parody film like "A Superhero Movie".
Which if done right, and in cooperation with Boom Studios, can lead to Animated or new live action "Spectral Borgs" series based on the comics that are the comics in the Beetleborgs movie itself. Like Toy Story and Buzz's Space Command cartoon series that's the cartoon his toy story toy is from.
