But likely I'd go with the dopplegangers get the memories and any major physical alterations from those still alive, while the ones deceased get faint memory traces. So Sento will either merge too and keep his current face. Or won't merge at all and his dopplegangers will still exist in the same world.

We don't know how Stalk's face transformation works fully either. If it's only surface or if it's full DNA change. Full DNA change would mean his merge doppleganger is who matches his face, not who he was. And then there's the quantum question of how different he is from his alternates too. He may not have an exact match that forces a merge because of those alterations done to him by Stalk.

I'm guessing it's full DNA though, or that would have come up already previously during the attempts to catch the real murderer. Or maybe it did and I already forgot.

Depends on how they fully approach it.
