So yeah, I think comic material will be covered fine. As I said, Hasbro hasn't been shy about covering it. Including how much they've adopted Drift into the transformers franchise as a whole, as well as did the IDW only version of Blurr before they did TR Blurr. Or Arcee's IDW version as a Titan master, or gave Nautica a figure.

I know all about that -- but that was a fair few years ago. Everything about their recent trends, unfortunately, points to them exclusively doing G1 with nary an IDW reference in sight. You've got look at trends in the past few years, and in the past few years; the best we've gotten is an incredibly inaccurate Nautica as an American boxset exclusive. It's a pretty well-known thing right now that they just aren't doing comic stuff anymore.
I'm also not sure what you mean about IDW Arcee as a Titans Return figure. There wasn't anything IDW about it beyond the bulkier body build, which is just a consequence of it being a retool. It was pretty much just to give fans a Headmaster Arcee like, again, on that one G1 cartoon episode.

And, yeah; characters like Alpha Bravo and Victorion were put in the comic because of the toys, not the other way round. Nautica was the only time a character completely original to IDW's comics got a toy since Drift.
