I'm hoping that the mask replacements are detachable, separate pieces rather than being fused to the shoulders. Otherwise, it'll kill any neck articulation. Given that the mask is placed solidly when the shell is standing on its own, I fear there's not much hope for that.
Also, I don't think it can be an empty back like LVUR Level 1, since it's clearly reversible: white for Zi-O and black for Geiz, which is probably the main reason the figures are only photographed from the front.
Looking at it clearly, with your thoughts in mind about it being reversible, makes it pretty clear the whole thing is a double-sided clamshell.
All the joints are on the side and built so as not to obstruct movement in either direction, and Zi-O's watch hands actually serve to hide the back of Geiz's sticking-out katakana, and vice-versa.
In fact, I'm willing to bet that allowing for such a feature is much of the reason why Geiz's katakana stick out at all!
You can also see that the spare set of shoes act as heelspurs. My only question really is how to get the figures inside- it clearly doesn't have an open back, and I don't see any obvious place the torso could come apart. Perhaps it hinges upwards at the shoulders?
