[Kiwami]

10 Episodes into Kiva and I'm surprised by how much I like it. What makes this show so entertaining to me is the whole dynamic with the 2 different time settings; it keeps the show from becoming stale as juggling two different sets of characters that intertwine is something fresh and new that I haven’t seen done like this before in a Rider show.

It also helps that I’ve taken a liking to the characters although some don't have enough screentime (which is bound to happen I guess) - there's not enough Shizuka in this show so far, she definitely suffers from being "not important enough". I hope they do something cool with the character later but I don’t expect it.

Also, the one thing that bugs me so far is that the show doesn’t really bother to explain what Fangire are or where Kivat comes from. I can accept a talking bat-like toy flying around and giving the main character advice for a short while but after 10 episodes I’d like to know where he came from and how he ended up with Wataru. They will tell us eventually but I feel like they could drop a few hints at least.

I agree with your post as a whole and this sentence especially. The Imagin really are the best thing about Den-O and ones enjoyment of the shows heavily depends on if you like them or not.

I fondly remember Den-O even though the endgame was very disappointing; some of the individual stories were really good. The one with the old man who vanished because no one remembered him really got me. I had to think about that one when I was watching that animated movie last year - you know the one.
