That wasn't theory, that was clearly shown in several episodes. Though the .5 episodes did blatantly state that too.

So that's more like how Sougo reacted to humans being another riders, even though he should have already realized that from episode 1 and 2. Like how Geiz reacted to his shock about not already realizing that. Sougo is our audience level intelligence so to speak in many ways. He's slow to get things that are obvious. But he's also quick to adapt and learn as we've seen in this episode too with how he used Woz, granted he missed the aspect that Woz only told him half the truth. But that goes to Sougo's trusting nature.

Again, we were shown this with episode 1 and 2. But that is a good question on the another rider watch resets. Granted the time jackers freeze time to do that. So every reset could be them and the audience wouldn't be aware of it except in times the time jackers wanted Sougo or Geiz to be aware of it. Since they are our POV, we only see what they see normally except in some side details of character backgrounds. (Which is when it switches to time jackers POV.)

So far, it seems only Woz is immune to their "time freeze" thing.
