It's not really very clear, and I think there was some lack of communication with the director of these two episodes (The invess weren't affected at all when Gaim lost his powers in the flashback), but according to the official site, the monsters in this episode are just "Invess-like monsters", not actual Invess. Another Gaim also has control over them and the cracks, which is presumably why the Helheim invasion didn't advance at all. The whole system seems to exist for Another Gaim now.
