The Ultra shows weren't super popular for Crunchyroll. A few reps personally said so during cons. I don't know if they were outright failures (and I don't think they were) but I got the impression from them that they didn't perform to the numbers they wanted from the shows. Tsuburaya have been wanting to make the push for a wider Western release for quite some time though.

Based on the wording of this article, I'm almost picturing a DC Universe style ecosystem: a streaming service with a big, new, Western series supplemented by a legacy library of titles.
