I really enjoyed this. I'm a massive Build fan anyway, so you might think that's a given, but I loved Ex-Aid, and I'll be the first to admit last year's Final Ending is a little weak. Be The One, on the other hand, is the best summer film we've had since Surprise Future, and that's because it works with the series. A few months on from Build, and my love is a little softened with time, but the links to Sento's character arc, his relationship with his dad (and adoptive dad Evolt, really), and his brother-in-arms/best friend Banjou are at the forefront here, and that kind of character stuff was always my favourite thing about Build. Sento gets his time to shine, and I love him.

Of course, he doesn't hog *all* the spotlight. Evil Banjou probably has the most charisma of all the villains (excluding Evolt - his scene at the end is enough to show that), but as generic movie villains, they're fine. Evolt had some other guys with him, and now they're sick of him dicking them about? Sure, why not? I can roll with that. Blood is a badass design, but as someone else already said, that's the best thing. Especially when I feel like the whole "You're a fake hero" bit was already done better in-show. I still like it, especially exploring the public's feelings towards the Kamen Riders as a tool of combat, not as a Spider-Man style hero, but maybe a little more of that, instead of "And now I've brainwashed everyone!" It gives us fun chase scenes (and more badass Sawa), so that's good, but Toku uses plain brainwashing so much. Maybe something more subtle, like it implies? I don't know, I'm rambling.

Also, Beardo and Potato Farmer are still perfect comedy duo, and the scene in the basement shows it. Especially when Utsumi shows up. And Grease gets to use his Double Twin Breaker upgrade again! Yay! If only he'd used that instead of Blizzard, he'd still be alive. Maybe. Probably not.

Minor nitpicks aside (the CGI in the final battle is really kinda dodge, for the biggest of those), this is a great Rider film. Plus, it continues the "Baron shows up in every show ever" streak, and I respect that. Speaking of, Zi-O cameo was weird, but I can live with it. Anyone that thinks Sougo is annoying in show should be thankful we didn't get AU Movie Sougo.
